The National Council is pleased to present the evaluation of the role of the Clinical Nurse/Midwife Specialist and Advanced Nurse/Midwife Practitioner in Ireland. This is the first large national evaluation of these roles and the results and recommendations of SCAPE provide important information to inform the ongoing transformation of the Irish health services. The National Council commissioned the Schools of Nursing and Midwifery, Trinity College Dublin, and National University of Ireland, Galway through an open tender process, to evaluate the role of the Clinical Nurse/Midwife Specialist and Advanced Nurse/Midwife Practitioner, focusing on the clinical and economic impact of the roles. Two reports - a Final Report and a Summary Report are available.
